Hi, I'm Kelly and I have been a Vet Nurse since early 2012. After graduating from high school and trying my hand at studying law I decided it wasn't for me and took some time away from study to decide what path I wanted to take. I spent years contemplating working with animals until one day somebody asked 'what's stopping you from applying for study?' At that moment I thought "why not?" and jumped online and applied for Certificate II Animal Studies at TAFE to get a feel for the industry. I was very excited to receive my acceptance letter and started my study the following year! As I progressed through my study and received plenty of hands-on experience it was clear to me that working with animals was a true passion of mine.
After finishing my certificate I tried my luck at getting a traineeship at a vet clinic to finish my full qualification in veterinary nursing, that's when I stumbled across the amazing bunch of people I work with now! It was a very long and mentally demanding process completing my qualification, but it was well and truly worth it.
I am currently involved in running Puppy Preschool classes at our Fulham Gardens clinic. I am also involved in conducting weight loss consults in which I work with you and your pet to find the best weight for the longevity of their life and a diet to get them there and maintain it. Nutrition is a very high area of interest to me and I hope to do further study on this someday.
Outside of work I am a Mum to my beautiful little boy, Theo. Apart from spending my days chasing after him, I also play social netball, take Pilates classes and spend time with my friends and family.
I look forward to meeting you and your pet(s) in the future!
