Dr Kirra Ikonomou B.Sc (VB), D.VetMed
I started working for the Pets and their People team in late 2015 after completing my degree at the University of Adelaide.
I have always had a passion for animals, especially wildlife. All through my childhood I had lots of exotic pets, from stick insects to carpet pythons and have always aspired to one day be a vet.
Currently my pets include a cat, two pythons, and a ring tail possum I rescued a year ago.
I have a strong passion for exotic animal medicine and it was a dream come true when I was able to go to South Africa through my university course and have hands on experience with all the amazing wildlife they have there. I also have a strong interest in small animal surgery and would love to develop my skills within this area in the future.
